(Washington, D.C., August 5, 2008)—Last week, in a 247-178 vote, Congress passed the Paycheck Fairness Act. Introduced by Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), the bill aims to eliminate the wage disparity between men and women through strengthening the Equal Pay Act and closing loopholes that have allowed employers to justify wage discrimination.
