Erin Fahy is the CTO of Civitech, a company dedicated to providing technology tools and data for democratic campaigns, voter outreach efforts, and progressive causes nationwide.
She is a self-taught software engineer, having started off her career as an academic librarian with Mount Holyoke College, then Stanford University’s Digital Library, and later entered into engineering management roles with Protocol Labs and Alloy.
Erin Fahy attended high school in rural Illinois, in a conservative Christian family. The child of a single mother, she joined the US Air Force at 19, during the era of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. After 6 years in the Air Force, where she maintained F-15 fighter jets, Erin used her GI Bill to attend Mount Holyoke College. She later received her Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College.
Erin currently lives with her partner and stepson in San Francisco. She believes in using technology for good and is committed to using her skills to strengthen progressive LGBT movements across the country.
